The Future Leaders Workshop- Equipping leaders with leadership toolsYoung South Africans have the ability to change the world; they just need the potential to see it.
In 2014 Lead SA launched The Future Leaders program to further develop the beliefs, values and ideals that motivate leadership behaviours.
The two-day course is aimed at enhancing the leadership skills of socially-conscious young South Africans who want to make a difference in South Africa
The Future Leaders Workshop completed inaugural courses in Gauteng and Cape Town respectively and it’s growing and changing more lives. In 2015 Cape Town hosted the first leadership workshop which took place on the 28th-29th of March. The second workshop took place on the 16th -17th of May.
The purpose of these workshops is to build the following:
- The ability to appreciate and leverage diversity;
- Personal confidence;
- The ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
The workshops have inspired connections by exposing the future leaders to different kinds of leaders. The workshop helped the leaders realise that both positive and negative experiences provide the fuel for leadership journeys. They reflected on how self-knowledge, the ability to acknowledge difference are all key to successful leadership in the world today. Because the workshop hosted different people from different backgrounds with different perspectives the group respected the stories that they heard and appreciated them.
Leadership is about being able to listen to all sorts of stories and the leaders
