Written by: Lengwadishang Ramphele

The Big Issue vendor was gifted a car by the Olivier family who saw him daily on the streets selling the magazine.

The Oliviers have known Bongani Pholo for several years, describing him as a good person.

Jeremy Olivier, a well-known Cape Town musician, says him and his wife made a promise to Bongani that one day they will give him their car.

He is the type of a guy that leaves you with a smile no matter what you going through.

My wife told him that one day we are going to give this car and as we talk to him at the robots he would jokingly say oh you are breaking, why are you driving my car.

Jeremy Olivier, Musician

Helping someone is a wonderful thing.

Olivier says when he got sponsored with a bigger family car he thought it was time to fulfill the promise and give his car to Bongani who he says "couldn't believe his eyes".
