Founder of Ladles of Love shares personal experience he had with the homeless

Written by: Bontle Ndlovu

Founder of Ladles of Love and manager at Doppio Zero Danny Diliberto shared a personal story he had with a homeless man in the streets of Cape Town.

On the #WeekendBreakfast with Africa Melane, Diliberto says that the encounter unfolded at a breathing and meditation course he went to four years ago.

One day, we were instructed to go out into the streets of Cape Town to give some homeless people some tea says Diliberto.

While I was walking along the streets of Cape Town, I remember an individual who was under the influence of alcohol and he was shouting. As I walked up to him the shouting stopped and it was almost as if the homelessness had left him.

Diliberto adds that after he gave the homeless man a cup of soup, he returned to his shouting.

It dawned on me that if a cup of soup can restore a humans dignity, then that's what I need to do says Diliberto.
