Shoprite encourages entrepreneurs to hustle their way to R70 000 cash boost

Retailer Shoprite has launched a competition geared towards giving a boost to small businesses.

The Shoprite Hustle Competition wants to lend a hand to local micro-entrepreneurs.

Head of Strategy and Innovation at Shoprite, Neil Schreuder says it forms part of the firm's corporate social responsibility.

We have a responsibility to provide access to a larger market. We are a big business and we can support small businesses and put them on a platform to sell products in our stores.

Schreuder says at the end of the competition they will pick 36 winners who will get a marketing exposure, as well as R70 000 in cash.
