Why a diverse workplace matters

It makes business sense to embrace diversity in the workplace, says recruitment specialist Frances Kazan.

Kazan explains that diversity has the ability to boost an organisation's customer satisfaction and bottom line.

She says that many BEE policies are misused on both ends and do not genuinely or strategically advance the purpose of diversity and inclusion.

Kazan adds that HR departments need to make clear the strategic link between diversity and profits.

She says companies must ensure that employees add value to the workplace and aren't just points on scorecards.
