NGO equipping teachers with better skills to help underprivileged children
A local NGO is improving education in the Western Cape by training and equipping teachers in disadvantaged areas with more skills.
ORT SA Cape has a variety of programmes aimed at improving the skills of teachers so that they can better educate children.

There is a focus on upskilling teachers so that they have more ways to teach students a range of things, especially in terms of early childhood development.
Since many children in these disadvantaged areas miss out on early childhood development education, it is important that they access this type of education at their school. This will help them develop the motor, reading and language skills they will need to succeed in future.
