Please help: Call NGO Claw if you spot the baboon on the loose in Jozi's suburbs

Written by: Zanele Zama

The NGO Claw (Community Led Animal Welfare) in Johannesburg is appealing to residents to help capture a baboon on the loose. The organisation's founder Cora Bailey says that the baboon is not from a zoo; it is a wild baboon in search of a new troop.

There is no need to panic about him, if he sees you first he is prone to run.

The baboon has been spotted in areas such as Constantia Kloof and Krugersdorp. The NGO says it has set up four trap cages that will help catch the baboon. Bailey says that the baboon has been around for a couple of weeks and has not hurt anyone as it's not used to humans.

She explains that the baboon has moved out of the wild and is now caught between the highways and residential suburbs.

If you spot the baboon call 076 850 4466 or send a WhatsApp message.
