11-year-old Abriella Bredell raises R130 000 for Red Cross Children's Hospital

Abriella Bredell (11) achieved her goal on Friday of becoming the youngest person to swim from Robben Island to mainland Cape Town.

Bredell embarked on this adventure in order to raise funds for The Red Cross Children's Hospital.

Speaking to CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies Bredell explained her swim on Friday and the excitement that followed when she completed her swim.

So far she has raised R130 000.

We jumped into the water, swam and touched a rock very close to the Island and then we swam back to bay.

When we got out there were media people everywhere, they kept me warm... A lot of people were saying congratulations and then I got a lot of presents and chocolates.
