South Africa eagerly awaits news of #2023 Rugby World Cup Bid

Written by: diannem

For the past few weeks, we have been asking South Africans to wear their green and gold to support the Springboks and Rugby South Africa's bid to host the #2023 World Cup.

South Africa’s bid is already looking extremely strong. It was announced as “the clear leader” by World Rugby a week ago and the Rugby World Cup Ltd board – which includes the chairman, deputy chairman and CEO of World Rugby – unanimously supported the recommendation.

In anticipation of the announcement, we heard from John van der Vyver, Commercial Director of Dimension Date South Africa and Head of Production at Supersport, Alvin Naicker, about their support for the campaign and South Africa's readiness for the event.

The final decision will be made on Wednesday 15 November by the World Rugby Council who will vote on the recommendation in London, we expect the news at approximately 15:00.

Follow @Springboks on Twitter to follow the announcement!
