Heroic fire fighter saves drowning child while on holiday

A firefighter from Ottery Fire station, Craig De Lange saved the life of a three-year-old Anika Kara after she drowned in a pool where her family was on holiday.

De Lange says he was on his way to a nearby mall with his brother when he heard a commotion. He ran to where the commotion came from only to discover a little girl who appeared dead after drowning.

He says he did CPR for about ten minutes and the little girl started spewing the water. It's not clear how long the girl was under water.

According to De Lange it is not clear where her parents where when the incident happened.

De Lange advises that in a situation like that people need to remain calm because if everyone start panicking it might cause more harm than good.
