Written by: Sithandwa Ngwetsheni

This year, 5 For Change have selected five beneficiaries within South Africa’s most innovative social enterprises, and guests will be able to meet and contribute to the various causes on the night of the event. Ikhaya Le Langa, Numeric, Sunshine Cinema, Dine with Khayelitsha and Community Keepers represent the forefront of social impact and community development in South Africa.

To date, 5 For Change has raised over R700,000 and generated over R30 million of PR value for 25 beneficiaries. This year’s event aims to increase its impact by hosting its largest event yet and raising record funds, says Adriaan Dippenaar, one of the organizations co-founders.

“We are so proud of what 5 For Change has accomplished in the past 5 years and of the amazing beneficiaries we have highlighted and guests, sponsors and partners we have brought together. We see this year’s as an opportunity to step up how we engage in social change – and encourage all of Cape Town to join us.”

The incomparable Siv Ngesi will return as MC for the evening and the event also welcomes back a crowd favorite: The Kiffness, one of South Africa’s most renowned live electronic acts - with their jazzy, groovy and uplifting house music, combining live instrumentation with electronic house beats.

Guests can look forward to taking part in a luxury-item auction, winning a best dressed award and participate in other opportunities to win great prizes. Spirits, champagne and gourmet canapés will be flowing throughout the evening and the night will close with a jamming set by a DJ - to be announced soon.
