Booming Nollywood film industry an extraordinary African success story

Standard Bank and 702 has sent journalist Nikiwe Bikitsha to Lagos in Nigeria to uncover the potential of its markets as a part of the Africa Connected project.

Bikitsha met with top Nollywood movie producer Zik Zulu Okafor to gain insights into the Nigerian film industry.

Nollywood is an extraordinary Africa success story of a film industry that is home grown.

Okafor says that the beauty of Nollywood is that it reflects the dynamism of Nigeria.

Bikitsha explains that the country's burgeoning film industry contributes about 1.4% to the Nigerian GDP and employs over one million people.
