Zuma is inept President, says grieving Barbara Hogan

Written by: Qama Qukula

Ahmed Kathrada's widow and former Minister Barbara Hogan says the President's Jacob Zuma's Cabinet reshuffle is a defining moment in SA history.

Hogan broke her silence on Friday afternoon at a press briefing held by the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation.

She slammed Zuma's "dastardly deeds done in dark corners in this country" and said that he has proved his own ineptitude by axing Finance Minister Pravin and his deputy Mcebisi Jonas.

The President is not applying his mind in making decisions about one of the most critical issues.

It shows what an inept President we have.

The official memorial service of the anti-apartheid activist and struggle stalwart was postponed until further notice.

Hogan says she and her family had second thoughts about the memorial service after Zuma's announcement.

Many of us in the family began to have second doubts whether we want a commemoration under the auspices of a president who has clearly gone rouge and defied his party.

Surely it is an indictment of the President when his own party is rejecting him.
