Lead SA Hero uses his writing to change lives

Athol Williams comes from Westridge, Mitchell's Plain. He is the first person to earn Masters degrees from 5 of the top universities in the world.

Our January hero,believes in the power of literacy and education to transform lives so founded Read to Rise, an NGO which has distributed new books to 40,000 learners.

Three years ago he traded all his luxurious lifestyle and wealth in to help change communities.

"He has made such a big impact on our communities and society in the most positive way."

He has written books,poetry,autobiography and all proceeds go to printing Oaky books which he writes for children and gives to schools in underprivileged communities.
