Higher Education urges matrics in limbo to register on CACH portal
The Department of Higher Education and Training is calling for matriculants that have yet to be placed at tertiary institutions to register on their application portal.
The Central Application Clearing House (CACH) matches matric applicants' exam results and study preferences with places that need to be filled at institutions of higher learning.
The department's Deputy Director-General Dr Diane Parker explains the intention of the platform.

It is a combination of a call centre and website which allows matrics to register their academic information, receive career advice, and information about tertiary placement.
Parker outlines the current issues with the tertiary application system and future processes which will be implemented.
