Station presenters come together to support NGO’s in the spirit of Lead SA

This year, presenters on both Cape Talk and KFM chose charities to lend their support to.

Here is are our top 4:

Pippa Hudson and the Nonceba Counselling Centre in Khayelitsha

Pippa Hudson chose to work with the Nonceba Counselling Centre in Khayelitsha. On the 24th of February Pippa spoke to a woman from the centre who was in need of help.

Pippa pleaded to Cape Talk listeners to come to the rescue. Generous donations from listeners made it possible for the young woman's dreams to come true.

Kieno Kammies and SA Teen Entrepreneur Foundation

Cape Talk's Kieno Kammies is very passionate about entrepreneurship, this year he has been working Teen Entrepreneur.The SA Teen Entrepreneur Foundation is a registered NPO Trust.

The vision of the Foundation is to cultivate and promote an entrepreneurial spirit among high school learners across South Africa through interactive seminars, workshops, conferences, and exhibitions.

We target primarily high schools but also interact with universities, churches, and youth centres to promote entrepreneurship and enterprise development among our youth. Kieno helped give the organisation some exposure and made it a point to attend their events.

Africa Melane and SHAWCO UCT

Africa Melane is passionate about education, this year Cape Talk's Weekend Breakfast host chose to give his time to SHAWCO UCT.

SHAWCO UCT was started in 1943 and what started off as a one-man initiative quickly grew into one of the country’s largest student volunteer organisations which runs health and welfare projects throughout South Africa. Africa gave a talk and shared his personal journey with the SHAWCO UCT volunteers.
