The Orange African Nations Championship, a tournament celebrating the crème de la crème of Africa’s local football is taking place right here, on South African soil.
Now, who can forget how well we did as a nation in hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup?
Well, let’s do it again and host our African neighbours in a way only South Africans can.
Along with the gees, the essential part of being a great host in knowing your party so here is everything you absolutely have to know about #CHAN2014.

When will CHAN 2014 take place?
Well, this year, from 11 January to 01 February.
Where will it take place?
The Orange African Nations Championship 2014 will take place right here in South Africa. The Host Cities and Stadia are:
Cape Town: Cape Town Stadium and Athlone Stadium
Mangaung: Free State Stadium
Polokwane: Peter Mokaba Stadium
Who will be taking part?
Along with our great nation, 15 other African states will be contesting to be crowned as champions for the CHAN.
Mozambique, Mali, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Morocco, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Congo, Libya, Ethiopia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mauritania, Gabon, and Burundi.
What is the difference between the Orange Africa Cup of Nations South Africa 2013 and the Orange African Nations Championship, South Africa 2014?
The Orange Africa Cup of Nations South Africa 2013, which took place from 19 January to 10 February 2013, was contested by 16 nations whose teams were comprised of any nation’s player who was eligible to play for the
respective nation. The Super Eagles were crowned Champions of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations, South Africa 2013 on 10 February 2013 in the National Stadium, Johannesburg.
This time, the players who are eligible for selection to take part in the Orange African Nations Championship,
South Africa 2014 will be those who are home-based, i.e. players that are plying their trade within the nations’
