To celebrate World Tourism Day on 27th September, Dubai Tourism in association Greenpop, will give back to local primary school Witkoppen Primary School, by literally digging deep and planting trees.
Green Pop is a social enterprise that runs urban greening and reforestation projects in sub-Saharan Africa. They plant trees in schools, communities, and deforested areas with the aim to spread environmental awareness, uplift under-greened communities, make greening enjoyable and combat climate change.
“World Tourism Day is a good day to focus not only on tourism as a whole but how we as members of the tourism industry can give back. We are pleased to assist a worthy charity and give back to the community by planting trees and planning for a greener and hopefully brighter future for the learners at Witkoppen Primary,” commented Bailey Gorst of Dubai Tourism.
